Ms. Jayshree Sengupta, Chairman (The Chairman is an honorary position)
Jayshree Dutt Sengupta holds an M.Phil in Economics from the London School of Economics. She taught economics at Delhi University (Miranda House and Indraprastha College) for ten years.

Ms. Sengupta has worked as a research associate in the following organizations: the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (London), the Indian Council of Research in International Economic Relations (ICRIER, New Delhi), the Institute of Manpower Research (IMR, New Delhi), and the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER, New Delhi). She has also worked in the capacity of consultant with the World Bank (Washington D.C.), the OECD (Paris), and the World Economic Forum (Geneva).

She is currently a senior fellow with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF, New Delhi). Ms. Sengupta also has a significant career in journalism. She was a senior editor with the Hindustan Times, and has written articles and columns for nearly all of India’s major national dailies. She is author of several books, including A Nation in Transition: Understanding the Indian Economy (New Delhi: Academic Foundation, 2007).

Madhura (Mitu) Sengupta is Associate Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. In addition to a PhD in Political Science from the University of Toronto, she holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), both in Political Science, from McGill University. Her areas of teaching and research interest are international development, with a focus on rights based approaches to development, the politics of labour, and the politics of the media. Dr. Sengupta has written numerous academic articles on a broad range of subjects, and is a regular contributor to the US and Canadian alternative press. Mr. Mohan Rao Kommajosyula, Administrative Officer
K.M. Rao has been associated with CDHR as Administrative Officer since 2009. Prior to joining CDHR, Mr. Rao worked in the Central Government for 39 years in various posts. He retired as Assistant Controller (Administration) in the Department of Publications, Ministry of Urban Development.

Ms. Nandini Dey
Nandini Dey is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Political Science (Hons.) from Hindu College, University of Delhi. A voracious reader, she would like to make a mark in the field of journalism. Her areas of interest are political history, literature, media and religion. Nandini is a regular contributor to the Rights & Development Bulletin.


 
   
Ms. Hilary Ferguson
Hilary Ferguson has an MA in Geography from the University of Toronto and an MA in Public Policy and Administration from Ryerson University. Hilary has also worked and volunteered for various development organizations, including the Canada-Africa Partnership for AIDS (CAP AIDS) and End Poverty Now (EPN). Currently, she is a policy analyst at the Ontario Public Service.
 
   
Ms. Neha Mahal
Neha Mahal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. She has worked for ASHA, an NGO working with tuberculosis patients in Delhi’s slums. Her interests are in health, food security and women’s issues.


 
   
Mr. Alexander Pekic
Alexander Pekic holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto, and an MA from the Centre for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto. His interests are in the politics of the media, immigration policy and indigenous rights.


 
   
Ms. Manasi Sinha
Manasi Sinha is a PhD student at Jawaharlal Nehru University with the Centre for European Studies, School of International Studies. Her interests are in women’s issues and gender and development.
 
   
Ms. Joanne Tan
Joanne Tan is an exchange student at Jawarhalal Nehru University. Born and raised in Singapore, she left for France in 2009 to study at Sciences Po Paris (otherwise known as Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris), and she is currently in her third year. After spending a year in Delhi, she will be returning to Paris to pursue her masters.


 
   
Ms. Jessica Thorp
Jessica Thorp is an MA student in the joint Communication and Culture program at Ryerson and York Universities. She is also a research associate at the Infoscape Research Lab - Centre for the Study of Social Media.
 
   
Ms. Selina Thounaojam
Selina Thounaojam holds a BA from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi, and an MA in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. She has written numerous articles for local English newspapers in Manipur, and has worked as a field monitoring officer for People’s Resource Development Association, Manipur. Her interests include development economics, macroeconomics and economies of the North East.
 
   
Ms. Urvashi Tilak
Urvashi Tilak has an MA in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and is currently pursuing an M.Phil from the Delhi School of Economics, Department of Sociology. Her interests are women’s issues, labour and social security issues, with a focus on child labour and bonded labour.


 
   
Mr. Philip Varghese
Philip Varghese graduated from St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi with Economics and Political Science as majors, and later completed a Masters in Political Science from Madras Christian College, Chennai. He is currently a research fellow at Jawaharlal Nehru University, pursuing an M. Phil degree. His interest areas include labour issues, minority rights and migration.
