Ms. Jayshree Sengupta, Chairperson: Jayshree Dutt Sengupta holds an M.Phil in Economics from the London School of Economics. She taught economics at Delhi University (Miranda House and Indraprastha College) for ten years. Ms. Sengupta has worked as a research associate in the following organizations: the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (London), the Indian Council of Research in International Economic Relations (ICRIER, New Delhi), the Institute of Manpower Research (IMR, New Delhi), and the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER, New Delhi). She has also worked in the capacity of consultant with the World Bank (Washington D.C.), the OECD (Paris), and the World Economic Forum (Geneva). She is currently a senior fellow with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF, New Delhi). Ms. Sengupta has also had a significant career in journalism. She was a senior editor with the Hindustan Times, and has written articles and columns for nearly all of India’s major national dailies. She is author of several books, including A Nation in Transition: Understanding the Indian Economy (New Delhi: Academic Foundation, 2007). Dr. Mitu Sengupta, Global Coordinator: Madhura (Mitu) Sengupta is Associate Professor in the Department of Politics at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada, and a member of the Board of Directors of the professional network, Academics Stand Against Poverty, which is headquartered at Yale University. In addition to a PhD in Political Science from the University of Toronto, she has an MA and BA (Honours), both in Political Science, from McGill University. Her areas of teaching and research interest are international development, with a focus on rights based approaches to development, the politics and political economy of India, and the politics of sporting and cultural events. Ms. Neha Mahal, National Coordinator: Neha Mahal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, and an Master of Arts in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics. She has worked for ASHA, an NGO working with tuberculosis patients in Delhi’s slums. Her interests are in health, food security and women’s issues.
Mr. Mohan Rao Kommajosyula, Administrative Officer
KM Rao has been associated with CDHR as Administrative Officer since 2009. Prior to joining CDHR, Mr. Rao worked in the Central Government for 39 years in various posts. He retired as Assistant Controller (Administration) in the Department of Publications, Ministry of Urban Development.
